Being girly

Description

Girly girl =/= Mean girl

I'm tired of girls putting on black clothing and shutting themselves off of other girly girls wearing pink just because they feel that they can.

NEWSFLASH: Wearing black clothing, eyeliner, and shaming the mental illness of cutting is not "being different". You're being the same as others. Just because you're not wearing a pink dress and heels doesn't automatically make you "different". So why do you dismiss feminine girls without even giving them a chance to say a word to you?

I DO NOT MIND TOMBOYS. TOMBOYS ARE AWESOME. AS WELL AS "EMO" GIRLS. It's tomboys and "emo" girls that take one look at a girl who wears make-up and look the other way.

And also, PINK IS JUST A COLOR. There's no reason to condemn pink because of what it represents. Another thing I'm tired of. GUESS WHAT. I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT AND I FREAKING LOVE PINK SO MUCH, MY ROOM IS PINK WITH SOME GREEN IN IT. WHAT NOW?

As a matter of fact, pink has not always been a feminine color. Taken from Wikipedia:

In Western culture, the practice of assigning pink to an individual gender began in the 1920s. From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys because being related to red it was the more masculine and decided color, while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color, or related to the Virgin Mary.
